If you want a top-notch smile and oral health, then you need to take good care of your teeth and gums. Your teeth and gums are the main contributors to your smile. So, please do all you can to keep them in tip-top shape. To help you do so, our dentist, Dr. Dennis Burrell, is happy to give you some tips.

The first tip is to properly brush your teeth. All you need to do is use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste (that are ADA approved) to brush every morning and every night for two minutes each time. If you have a hard time brushing for two minutes, set a timer for yourself or watch a two-minute YouTube video as you scrub.

The second tip is to properly floss your teeth. All you need to do is use a flossing product of your choice (that also has been approved by the ADA) and floss the spaces between your teeth daily. Make sure you remove the plaque that resides between the teeth because that plaque causes cavities and gingivitis. As you floss, make sure to be gentle along the gums.

The third tip is to have a healthy and balanced diet. Unfortunately, there are many foods and drinks that threaten to harm the outer shell of the tooth and even create cavities! So, it’s best to avoid sugary and acidic foods and drinks and have more tooth-healthy products, like fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and water.
